Analysis of Gladiator opening sequence

In this opening sequence we perceive within the first minute that this film is going to be an action film, as the characters props, such as the clothes they are wearing suggests violence. This is because stereotypically men wore in the olden days on the battle fields. Also, the horses suggests fighting or war because again they are stereotypically used in battle as that's how the Roman's travelled from a to b. In addiction other props used such as shields and spears also suggest violence as it implies they are preparing for battle.
